Places & foods

Thanks to Tzumei, I found another good place for Taiwan food. She brought me to Hartamas for this Taiwan shop near Borneo Ink. Had a great night out with Tzumei, Khai Tzer and Joe in Hartamas.

I have to say this is so far the best steam dumplings I've tried and also the closest taste to the dumplings in Taiwan. It is awesome because besides minced pork in the dumpling, there are also cabbages inside, which is the traditional way of making dumpling in Taiwan.

I would say braised beef noodle is one of Taiwan's significant dish so how could I not try the one that is most popular?Loved the soft texture of the beef.It is braised just nice, soft but not too soft. This is not the kind that will melt in your mouth the moment you put it in,rather it is something chewy and the longer you chew it,the beef taste comes out even more!

Joe's fried fish with noodle

TzuMei's pork rib rice

Had a wonderful Christmas with the love bunch, Lynn,Eugene,Denesh,Tzumei, and some others like Winnie,Lam,Lam's gf, Daniel and the gf in La Bodega Bangsar Telawi.Had great fun laughing and playing games and talking nonsense. The most typical celebration of all but yet it is the most awesome.Simplicity at its best huh?

Since it was Christmas..How can we not have wine on our table?

My specially request seafood spaghetti with cream sauce. It is absolutely delicious!

Tzumei's sandwich.Very nice also!

Epicly awesome roasted pumpkin.I'm still figuring out how to make it lol

Gene's big breakfast.Loved the awesome sauteed mushroom!

Winnie's sandwich which looked like a meatball sandwich to me!

Lynn's all time favourite, asparagus soup and I would say it is epicly awesome too!

Tiramisu in La Bodega.I don't fancy it lol.I've had my best one and so far nothing else beat it,yet.

Had a girl's day out with my kakak,Icey. We had lunch in Hakka Restaurant in The Curve, and this is one of the most difficult Hakka dish to make, suen pun zhi in Cantonese.I would say the one they selling can be improved.

Dinner at Tatto restaurant

The bread they serve was epic la.The top and bottm surface was toasted just nice, literally crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside!Sugguh mouthwatering!

Risotto with sauteed tiger prawns and asparagus.Risotto is never a dish to have it all by yourself.Even we were sharing and we couldn't finish the risotto because it became jelak after awhile.I don't find it that interesting as compared to the one I had in cafe cafe, maybe because I am never a fan of tomato sauce.

Scallop spaghetti with light cream sauce.Hated the fish inside because got the bau hanyir ):

Dining in an Italian Restaurant..How can we not try out the tiramisu? But turn out..the tiramisu is a disappointment and so is the entire dinner... ): Not that the food or the tiramisu is not nice,is just that we're expecting more. That aside,I really have to give credit. The drawing on the plate with different syrups was absolutely beautiful!

This is going to be another emo entry, summarizing of how I feel in this month. When he told me he had gotten into another relationship,I got beaten down to hell. But I am slowly getting my way up,with help, love and care from a lot of my beloved friends. For this once I really have to name names. My best friends,Icey,Jian, Marianna; Lynn, Gene,JC,Reychel,Jun Kit,Agnes,Munzillah and let's not forget the one I'm having a relationship with right now,Mr Gabbyemonana LCM.You all have been here for me this whole month.Pull me through my exams and now, pulling me through to get out of this shit.Whenever I burst into a emo crying moment,I get an instant reply and some of you are even better, talk to me and hear me cry for hours, and keep checking in for me.

I was wondering how would my Christmas and New Year be without him,and 1/1 is supposed to be our anniversary.Thank you love bunch,I had an awesome Christmas by just sitting in La bodega, talking and playing games with you all.I can have a simple yet awesome Christmas as long as you are all here with me,and thank you guys for making my Christmas so wonderful.

I didn't realize how many good friends I have with me and it was a huge mistake.Was.I am never going to repeat the same dumb mistake again.I've been out lepaking with different bunch of friends and I really thank you all for keeping me occupied and analyzing things for me.I couldn't have realize these things without your words, and I may be still stuck in an illusion that I created for myself.

Like Jun kit said..I've shed more than enough tears for him.He doesn't worth it.So yes,I am going to stop crying for him.

Yes I've been down.I have my low self-esteem moments.I wonder why things didn't work out and are they my fault.I self-examine and it caused me to be sad even more because I thought I was no good at all.But I promise I'm through these shits.I know what I'm worth.Even though I am not perfect, but someday somewhere I will bound to find someone that truly appreciates me,love me and take me for who I am.

Here are few songs that i kept repeating it to myself this month. Aqua - turn back time > Gareth Gates - too serious too soon > Raymond Lam - some fong sau song and now, I am ending this with Taylor Swift - White Horse and pay attention to the bolded sentences

Say you're sorry
That face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
As I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on
The days drag on
Stupid girl,
I should have known, I should have known

[Chorus]
I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale
I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it's too late for you
And your white horse, to come around

Baby I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
And never really had a chance

My mistake, I didn't wanna be in love
You had to fight to have the upper hand
I had so many dreams
About you and me
Happy endings
Now I know

[Chorus]
I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale
I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it's too late for you
And your white horse, to come around

And there you are on your knees,
Begging for forgiveness, begging for me
Just like I always wanted but I'm sooo sorry

Cause I'm not your princess, this ain't a fairytale
I'm gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well

This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rearview mirror disappearing now
And its too late for you and your white horse
Now its too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now
Oh, it's too late
To catch me now

Me <3 Sales!

Woohoo~ I went Zara warehouse sales yesterday and I'd say it was madness but awesome! The Zara clothes were filthy cheap, along with some other brands like Massimo Dutti and Bebe! But I'd say only certain items from Massimo and Bebe were worth grabbing only.As for Zara, grab everything you could la!It's really filthy cheap!Loved the warehouse sales and I wish I can go again!

Here are my catches of the day

Zara's basic top..RM19.90 (:

Top from pull and bear, RM29.90

My best catch of the day...Can you imagine this baby only cost me RM9.90 from Zara?

Here's another of my best catch...My first ever top from Bebe, RM79 and the original price was RM189.90.

Ignorance is bliss

I happened to watch what happens in Vegas last night, staring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. At the end of the show, Cameron said that the most blissful thing one could have is to be alone, need not to please anyone, and need not to do anything.

So,inspired by her words,my plan today is to do nothing, which is quite successful.I've been snuggling on my bed for the whole morning and continuing throughout the whole afternoon. Yes and I feel dam relaxed can?Play with my phone and listening to songs that I feel like listening.Repetition doesn't seem to bored me though.Loving day like this should come more often. Now I finally understand what ignorance is bliss is. <3!

Can't wait for newmoon, although some show critics says it is a disappointment.But..regardless of anything...How can a big twilight fan like me missed out the movie?

Too serious too soon

It's my day to freedom.I should be very happy and jumping around.I can't help but have this song keep playing in my mind.

Gareth Gates - too serious too soon

I wonder where you where
I wonder what your thinking about tonight
I wonder
Maybe your alone
Maybe you've been crying just like me
I wonder
I don't know why I lost your touch
Maybe I wanted to be loved too much

Too serious, too soon
I wanted you to love me
I wanted to be there for you like no one else before
Too serious, too soon
I wanted you to love me

It's been a rainy afternoon
Now I'm Staring at the moon
Thinking we got too serious, too soon

I told you every day
I told you every night in every way
I love you

Maybe you got scared
Maybe I have nothing else to say
But I love you
So baby now my life's a mess
Cause I'm
cos I couldn't love you any less

Too serious, too soon
I wanted you to love me
I wanted to be there for you like no one else before
Too serious, too soon
I wanted you to love me

It's been a rainy afternoon
Now I'm Staring at the moon
Thinking we got too serious, too soon

Too soon
It's not right
It's not fair
It's in you baby cuts like a knife
what if you were the love of my life

Too serious, too soon
I wanted you to love me
I wanted to be there for you like no one else before
Too serious, too soon
I wanted you to love me

we got too serious to soon
I wanted to be there for you like no one else before
too serious too soon
I wanted you too love me

It's been a rainy afternoon
Now I'm Staring at the moon
Thinking we got too serious, too soon

Updates!

I finally got my Iphone after blood-boiling days of waiting and queue-ing up in Maxis in The Gardens. That day..I literally stole my current iPhone because I was supposed to wait for them to call me,then only I can get my iPhone but I didn't..I went there, straight press the queue number for "iPhone purchase" and waited there..I waited there for 3 hours in total, which I scolded the staffs also..Oh well..It's been long since I last scolded people XD.

Anyway..I've been to few restaurants which I wants to share with all of you..However, I've updated the photos right from my phone to Facebook, since it is more convenient that way XD

I've been to Grandmama's restaurant in Pavilion. The initial concept is similar to Madam Kwan's, which there are few dishes that overlaps as well, for instance, Nasi Boujari and Asam Laksa. According to baby bug and Alfred, both dishes in Madam Kwan's are slightly better than the one in Grandmama's.

However, I took their signature dish, the Sang Har noodle, which was awesome! The prawns were huge and really fresh too! Most importantly..The prawn taste has been incorporated into the noodle and the gravy!Totally awesome for a not-so pricy price!

My Sang Har Noodle

Asam Laksa

Baby bug's Nasi Boujari

Frames, TTDI plaza

Frames is ran by baby bug's senior, Mark. However, that day, we were supposed to go to flea market in the Curve but baby bug cheated me.He brought me to Frames to have dinner instead and we sat there for 3 hours to have our dinner. It's not the case where we waited very long for our dishes to be served, but rather Mark was asking me to try their desserts and give comments. Woah,a food-critic to be eh me!

I'd say the food in Frames are nice, especially their diablo pasta! The spaghetti is very well cooked, just not,not too soft or hard. And the seafood, mussels were really fresh to the extend where I can still taste the original saltiness in it. The prawns were big, and fresh, and to my surprise, the prawns were real fresh prawns and not reared prawns, which was totally awesome!

Diablo pasta

Baby bug ordered beef cheesy burger...I would say it is not bad and i find it a little different from the rest of the restaurants due to the vegetable they put into the burger..It's the fresh, almost organic type of salad, and not the usual salad. This salad is slightly reddish, and it is a little bitter. But it is more crunchy than the ordinary salad. You can see the salad they use in the picture.Sadly I do not know the name for this salad ): Maybe its time for me to go study a little in cold storage, to get to know the names for different salads eh?

Besides that..Another reason why I like Frames is the setting. The seats are very comfy and for a person like me,which I always anti-the sofa seats, their sofa seat was good enough for me to sit in for more than 2 hours. I shifted place with bug later because the air-cond was blowing directly at me and I was freezing, due to my improper wear (polo-T with shorts) :P

Settings in Frames

For no reason this particular picture on the wall just caught my eyes so badly..so I took a shot of it!

We ordered dessert, which was my favorite tiramisu.I found that there are space for improvement for this tiramisu but I must say the alcohol content was just nice, not too strong or not too mild. And the sponge layer was very absorbent, unlike Italianies' tiramisu, which is always wet!

After we tried the tiramisu and I gave comment on it,me, Mark and baby bug continued talking and out of a sudden Mark asked if I want to try their brownie with ice cream which is not in their menu yet.I was very full but since baby bug say he can still eat..So we tried the brownie and it was not bad.It is moist enough, and not many nuts were there.I hate brownie with a lot of nuts because I found them disturbing me to taste the texture of the cake.

I had a great time in Frames, either trying food or talking to baby bug and Mark.I am definitely going back there in due time!

Cristang - the best and most sinful pork burger in Malaysia!

Just went Cristang on yesterday to tried out the pork burger,as Cristang was featured in NST.We specially went on Wednesday because there are 20% off for any of the pork burgers. So off we went. The "we" consist of me,Thava, tracy and Cheryl.Too bad baby Lynn was purging so she was unable to join us ):

I would say the setting in Cristang is so so only, but maybe because it wasn't at night so the atmosphere was different.

20% off for pork burgers!

I ordered their chocolate-banana milkshake and I regretted it.Not like it's not nice but it was rather rich.Having it without meal is totally fine but it will be too much with a heavy meal, like beef burger :D

The beef burger was good too.The hamburger they made it themselves and I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed the grilled bacon!I love bacons to be super dry and crispy!

Although the beef burger was good..but nothing can beat the pork burger! The pork burger was so awesome that I kind of regretted ordering my beef burger for the first time! The pork was totally fresh, and it has no pork-smell that i hated so much, and not to forget the minced pork sauce was awesome too!The minced pork sauce is called minced pork chili con carne, which was serious awesome and it's nothing like bolognese sauce at all.The taste is even heavier with set P4, which is with petai. The petai is blended into the sauce where a petai-hater like me can't even taste it!Let's not forget..The Cristang Cajun wedges with rosemary (I think it was rosemary) was awesome too! Each and everyone of us loved the wedges!

While waiting for our dishes to be served...I took this out of boredom. They serve German beer too!

For the first time..The pictures of the pork burger are making me salivating and I feel really hungry now!

Who wants to go with me again soon?!

Sighs. My SE phone dieded and all my photos are inside. So no picture update for now okay.Just brief summary of what I did recently.

Finally my thesis 2 got approved and now I'm running it.And I need 100 gamers as participants to fill up for me.So people, please do fill up for me and do help me to pass it around! http://www.kwiksurveys.com/online-survey.php?surveyID=OLINO_3a9157c5

Went to Sultan lounge in Mandarin Oriental yesterday. It was free flow for the ladies and it was also my first time visiting.I'd say it is awesome but it is totally different from other lounges, perhaps because Sultan is located in Mandarin Oriental. It was very classy and everything, also you can see that a lot of rich people, pilots and armies were there drinking. So yeah,it is a class on its own.

First time in Velvet,Zouk as well for mambo. It was awesome but unfortunately we did not get a table,so we had to hang around at the bar.Long Island in Velvet was insanely pricy,it was about 100 bucks.Wtfomfgbbq, some more not kao at all.Boooo.I'm loving mambo. It's 70's oldies before one and after one it's more 90's.I had fun dancing and looking at tonnes of pretty girls. Now I can wear my 5inches there and not feel like an alien!

Had nice long chat with baby bug and finally we've sorted things out. It's really time for me to slow down, take a break and find what I really want and work towards it.Although it still isn't easy for me now but he is there, guiding me and helping me whenever I need him.

Went to check out currency yesterday.TWD is 11,2 and USD is very expensive, 3.46.Should have bought it when it was around SGD's price.By now I should have earned a lot already if I bought it much earlier. But I think I wanna change into TWD and keep first as the currency for TWD is not bad.I'm quite confident that I'll go Taiwan next year. *finger crossed*

Long awaited update

So sorry people..My most sincere apology..Been busy with thesis stuff and now my holiday is over only I remember to update..But anyway, holiday have been boring for me besides a few occasional clubbing nights out and yeah...Hadn't really been traveling around and hunt for good food..Sighs..I am now super craved for good foods.

Anyway..here are a few pictures of foods..Enjoy!

My favorite place to have banana leaf..Nirvana's in Bangsar Telawi.Although it is quite pricy, but I still like it because of the fried bitter gourd. It is not bitter at all and it is just...Very rice.It is red in color because they fried it with I forgot what powder was it already lol. If you don't order side dish I think by just eating like this is also very filling as you can ask them to serve you with as much rice as you want and the currys and dhal you have to put in yourself to suit your own taste.

Side dish:- mutton bermasalah.I mean.masala mutton. It is very nice, not really that spicy although it looks scarily reddish, and the lamb is very tender.Don't have the typical lamb smell as well.Love it.But I think this small plate should cost me about 8-10 bucks @@

Ayam masala

If you don't want to eat plain rice..You can also order other rice from them. But of course, they will charge you for the rice la and I'm not sure how much is it.Tracy's banana leaf with nasi briyani

Next stop!Chopstick noodle house located in Mid Valley (:

Went there with baby bug for dinner quite some time ago and we always dine in Mid Valley...Basically,MV is like my second house already..I am always there and lepak..Spending my precious time in Starbucks drinking my favorite chocolate ice blended or having a cup of signature hot chocolate while reading my favorite books, be it twilight series or P.S. I Love you.It is kinda rejuvenating I could say.
Well..Chopstick noodle house. Not bad for their food and it is some place that I'd pay a visit again the the future.

Baby bug's dunno what emperor's noodle with some gravy.

My favorite Szechuan noodle. But it is not spicy at all ): I always thought Szechuan food is supposed to be spicy..Aww...But this restaurant is not that pricy..After all our bill came up to 33 bucks only for both of us with drinks.. (:

Newyork newyork in 1U

According to Karmun, this newyork newyork thing is from singapore and we happen to pass by this place before and it the food looked good,so Karmun decided that I should spend him his birthday dinner there and off we go.But to be frank..I was kind of disappointed with the food there as it was not up to my standard..Oh well..Probably at the first place I held too high expectations before I go there.

Some items from their menu..

Hot beverages

Desserts

Appetizers

Main course

Karmun's rootbeer with ice cream

My favorite chocolate with marshmellow. This drink is very nice as I have a picky mouth for chocolate drinks and I was loving this drink :D

Appertizers:- buffalo wings.I could say it taste very different from TGIF or Chili's buffalo wing and it taste quite good.

Some cheese fountain thing appertizer...Serve with fried eggplant, mushroom and dunno what was the other 2 thing. It was still good when the cheese was hot and after it gets cold become very salty and the fried stuff becomes soggy and oily.

Main course:-
Extra size hotdog. Not impressive at all and I hated the bun. From the look only i could tell the bun is dry and not moist at all.I only ate the hotdog and it was just normal chicken hotdog.

Some cheesy chicken thing. The chicken breast was juicy and tender, however the chicken breast is not marinated before they cook it.So the meat is practically tasteless if you don't eat it with the cheese topping.

As I wasn't satisfy and indeed I was a little disappointed..It is like incomplete and the feeling of empty hole not filled was haunting me..So I decided to give it one last chance to try out their dessert as I saw quite a few customers ordered it and it was their signature dessert..

However,I was still disappointed at the end of the day.I'd prefer Delicious' classic chocolate cake better and it is definitely cheaper..Classic chocolate cake in Delicious only cost me RM9.90 without tax and this one is like..RM15.90 without tax?Seriously...I'd never consider going back there again, although the total bill for all 5 dishes came out about RM110 which is quite cheap for me but the food is not up to standard..So there's no point for me to go back anymore..

This is one of the chinese shop that sells chinese herbal and bird's nest thing in between MV and gardens at the lower ground floor, where they call it "gurney drive", which is close to cold storage or big apple's donuts.Me and baby bug decided to try this out as each time whenever we pass by it is filled with people.

My yam rice wrapped in lotus leaf. Not bad,but not impressive enough.

Baby bug ordered dunno what chicken soup and I saw the ingredient...It was supposed to be bitter but it was not and this soup is very nice...They really spend a great deal of time to cook the soup... XD

Baby bug's shrimp fried rice.It tasted good and I actually prefer his dish over mine.So in the end we exchanged our dishes XD

Moving on..We all love tuesday. Why?Because it is earthquake day in Swensens! To be frank..the ice cream there not bad..Especially a few flavor like old fashioned vanilla..Mad chocolate and something like that...

Last but not least..So far my favorite dessert,Tiramisu from Italianies. It cost RM16.90 if I'm not mistaken and although I had better tiramisu in Cafe Cafe which cost me RM23, but I still crave for this Tiramisu from time to time.
